Our Mission

The mission of the Hamilton Police Department is to protect the life and property of citizens of Hamilton. This includes the preservation of each citizen's constitutional rights. The Hamilton Police Department enforces city ordinances, laws of The State of Alabama and The United States of America.

Our department works continuously to provide a safe and secure environment for the residents and businesses in Hamilton. We do this by the apprehension of criminals and by developing community trust to prevent and/or reduce crime within our city. Our department strives to accomplish this mission with fair and impartial police services.

  
Police Staff
The Hamilton Police Department employs nine officers. This includes the Chief & Assistant Chief. The police department also has one sergeant and one lieutenant. These officers are responsible for an area of approximately 36 square miles.

These nine officers have the duty to protect and serve approximately 6,800 citizens of Hamilton. This protection and service includes the enforcement of all city ordinances as well as State and Federal laws.
